Rhinoplasty changes the profile of the nose by reshaping the bones and cartilages. It seeks to improve the appearance of the nose by removing its unsightly aspects. The skin readapts to the new shape of the bone and cartilage beneath it.  Consequently, it is  assumed that the quality of the skin influences the quality of the final result.

The consultation is frequently accompanied by a digital simulation of the nose in profile  so as to give the patient an image of what result to expect. This step often brings the patient back to reality once a coherent image in line with technical constraints is presented to him. Discussion can then begin about the size and shape of the nose.

Numerical simulation

Result post operation

  • Rhinoplasty can only be performed after puberty, once growth (including that of the nose) is complete

Principle of treatment

  • The cartilages and bones are shaped from the inside of the nose.

Internal incision

Resection of inferior cartilage

Resection of the cartilaginous hump

Resection of the bone hump

Resection of the bone hump

Treatment procedure

External incisions can sometimes be useful in reducing nasal passages or in verifying certain technical points.

External incision

Reduction of the nostrils

  • Most often they remain invisible
  • The procedure is conducted under general anesthetic
  • Hospitalization: 24 hours.

  • A resin splint is placed on the nose for a week
  • It is painless but, depending upon the thickness of the skin, it can take from 3 to 12 months, to see the final result.

  • The nose is well-proportioned and in harmony with the rest of the face.
